As part of McKinsey Digital, you’ll join a global team working on everything from IT modernization and strategy to agile, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

You’ll also work with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses, both on technology and non-technology topics.

McKinsey Digital brings together the practices formerly known as the Business Technology Office, McKinsey Digital Labs, and McKinsey Digital.

Many people join us as Associates or Business Analysts, focusing on a combination of tech and non-tech focused projects.

Many aspects of the roles—from interview process to professional development and trajectory—are the same as anywhere else in the firm. Joining McKinsey Digital is just like declaring your tech-focused major.

No technical skills required

You don’t need technical expertise or experience to join. We’re much more interested in potential: talented people from a range of backgrounds and experiences—united by a passion for technology.

Developing your career

As a Digital Associate or Business Analyst, you’ll develop the same leadership and consulting skills you would as a generalist at McKinsey, including participating in the same renowned training programs. But here, you get to add specific strategic expertise in tech.

The interview process depends on the role you’re applying for, as well as your previous experience.

If you’re applying for an Associate or Business Analyst role directly from university, we’ll assess your problem-solving ability and personal experience through case interviews, exactly like we do in the generalist path.
